Unity under the sea: Google invests in new undersea cable

Ars TechnicaGoogle announced today that it has joined a consortium of five other international companies to build a 6,000-mile cable from Los Angeles to Japan. Once online, the "Unity" cable will increase available bandwidth between Asia and America by around 20 percent.
