Settings and features to cater for UK investors
Google has officially launched a UK version of its Google Finance stock-tracking system. The company said that the new service will have special settings and features to cater for UK investors. Unique features of the UK version include a dollar-to-pound converter on the front page along with a summary of the London Stock Exchange FTSE 100 indices. Financial news and search features on the site have also been configured to favour UK companies. The UK version of Google Finance will have the same stock price, company information and market summary systems as its US cousin. The site also features blog search and discussion groups, and a 'portfolio' option which allows users to track information on certain stocks. Google launched the US version of Google Finance in 2006 in an effort to keep users hungry for financial information from exiting the search engine to specialised third-party financial news sites.
