Google as gatekeeper: No "personal attacks" in campaign ads

Ars TechnicaGoogle has instituted a new policy on running political ads on its AdSense network, which includes a ban on attacks on an individual's personal life. The rule has stirred a little bit of controversy, though, over how much self-regulation is too much when it comes to advertising.
